TGC completed an evaluation of The Woodlands Convention and Visitor’s Center water cruisers. TGC prepared a written analysis that summarized the existing conditions of The Woodlands Waterway Cruisers, estimated the fair market value of the fleet, and provided a list of recommendations on the existing operational framework. TGC recommendations included the development of a truncated schedule, the extension of the existing agreement with a service provider for 90 days, the issuance of a Request for Expressions of Interest (RFEI) for potential service providers, as well as the development of an advertisement for sale of the existing fleet. TGC’s final recommendations also advised The Woodlands CVB Board to sell half of the existing fleet, utilize Passenger Ferry grant funding to purchase three new vessels, and to have the board identify a unified vision for the future of the service. TGC also recommended that once these tasks were completed. The Woodlands CVB should bring the operation of the service in-house.
