The Memorial City Redevelopment Authority (MCRA), located in west Houston is a nonprofit local government corporation created under the State’s Transportation Code in 2002. The MCRA was formed to assist Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone 17 (TIRZ 17) in the encouragement of economic development in Memorial City and neighboring areas.
TGC completed a “Grant Eligible” CIP document (planning document) that covered demographics, existing CIP projects, federal eligibility, existing conditions, project benefits, as well as future recommendations for strengthening the MRCA TIRZ’s ability to pursue state and federal resources. TGC also pursued funding concurrent with the 2015-2018 TIP call for Projects. TGC was successful in obtaining $10.4M for the reconstruction of Memorial Drive (BW8 to Tallowood) and $3.4M for the reconstruction of North Gessner (I-10 to Westview).
